Angela Akins Gracia became interested in sports as a teenager and began to play golf. As a child she was able to develop a passion for sports, and she decided to try golf. As the years passed by, she became experienced and won more than 8 tournaments while an high school student. Garcia was captain of Mable Falls the high school team and led it to 3rd in regional competition in 2003. They finished sixth in 2006 as they were the team that finished sixth. She has won more than 17 medals at national competitions, and is a member to the Women's Texas Golf Association. Following her high school graduation, Garcia attended Texas Christain University for several years and then transferred to the University of Texas. It was there that she gave her exposure to a than a competitive environment, which made her talents stronger as times passed. Angela Akin Garcia was a fantastic golfer but never imagined pursuing a career as a golfer. Her choice was to study journalism instead. After graduating in journalism, she got a job as reporter for Fox Sports Southwest reporter.
